a portrait with grey: oscar and I, lately.

Happy Wednesday Friends!

I wanted to take a moment and share this look with you. I like to think of it as my inner Amelia Earhart (being the granddaughter of a great French aviator it isn’t too farfetched).

This Isabel Marant coverall was one of those really lucky, thrifted finds (you know the kind you always hear about happening to people that ARN’T you). I snagged it for a mere 15€ at a flea market (French word of the day: brocante) on rue Bichat Paris Xeme. I am completely smitten! It’s such a comfortable, versatile piece that has the added bonus of being easy to breastfeed in! Considering I am a fairly short individual, accessorizing it with a belt kept me from running the risk of looking like an ump lumpa, and the ascot allowed me to further accessorize without having to worry about my daughter breaking another necklace.

Also, I would be remiss to not point out that in a world of short attention spans and all things viral, the context of an original rebel is always welcomed. As Oscar Wilde wrote,
“And, after all, what is a fashion? From the artistic point of view, it is usually a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.” Remember, the difference between petulance and revolution is understanding the rules you’re breaking. Honesty has only one tradition, that is it.

Clear skies and tail winds,

Cleia
